Hempstalls Hall Qube Young Apprentice of the Year

Here at Hempstalls Hall Care Home in Newcastle-under-Lyme, we are celebrating our Apprentice, Louise Whiston, winning the Young Apprentice of the Year Award at the glamorous Qube Learning’s 2017 ‘Inspirational Learning’ awards, held at the iconic Waldorf Hotel in Central London in March.

The ceremony is held in recognition and celebration of the hard work, achievement, passion and dedication of workers in the healthcare sector. The glittering Awards event was hosted by TV presenter, Laura Hamilton, and BBC TV ‘The Apprentice 2016’ finalist, Grainne McCoy.

Louise was inspired by a career in care by her mother, also a carer, and so grasped the opportunity of an apprenticeship at Hempstalls Hall. Louise has learnt to provide high quality person-centred care to residents, recognising that each is unique and has individual needs. She has felt fully supported by the Apprenticeship Scheme, and encouraged in her personal development.

Jayne Taylor, Hempstalls Hall Home Manager, said, “When Louise first embarked on the programme she was a shy girl who was nervous about anything new. She is now a confident, proactive and valued member of the team who is respected by staff members, residents, and relatives alike. She thoroughly deserved to win this award”.

From all of us at Hempstalls Hall, a huge well done to Louise for all her hard work and dedication, we are incredibly proud.
