Spencer House Care Home offer a programme of mental and physical activities, designed to ensure that everyone’s well-being is as good as it can be. The programme can help newer residents with settling in, and have huge success with inviting family and friends to regularly partake in our activities and social engagements. We run a handful of interest groups, such as our gardening club which is very popular, while other residents take an interest in the night sky and discuss the latest football politics – it’s not out of the ordinary that we venture to the pub to catch a game of football on the TV. For those who enjoy feeling the fresh air on their face, we also have a walking club who enjoy nothing more than a short stroll.

Our residents thrive off creating fun, interesting and delicious flourishes to their meals. They grow their own herbs and edible flowers to give a little something extra to their daily dishes. The Spencer House Care Home chefs also like to experiment with ingredients that have benefits, such as carrots, walnuts and spinach – all of which are thought to help with eyesight. At our Northampton nursing home, fresh is best – all food is freshly prepared, locally sourced where possible and menus are aligned with the seasons. Special dietary requirements are no problem at all for our competent chefs, who are in constant communication with residents and other staff members to ensure they are providing the best for the Spencer House Care Home residents.
Dining is an integral part of life at our Northampton nursing home. The chef and his team take great pride in what they serve, with a variety of choice. Between meals we are spoiled with home-baked delicacies or other tasty treats, with fruit always as an option (if you’re watching your waistline!). Family members are welcome to have something to eat when they’re visiting. We think they may have an eye on those aperitifs – a little indulgence before dinner!
