Care Home Residents Bake for Macmillan Cancer Support
Here at Milton Court Care Home we enjoyed a very successful Macmillan Coffee Morning, around 30 visitors joined our residents in the Butterfly Lounge raising an impressive £220.32 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Everyone got involved in baking cakes for this occasion with residents making coffee and walnut cupcakes, a delicious iced lemon curd sponge cake, a chocolate crazy cake and chocolate chip muffins. A very special fresh cream Victoria sponge cake was baked by the grandmother of a staff member which proved very popular and donations flowed in within minutes of our event starting.
An Elvis impersonator, Pete Webb, provided some great entertainment and provided the opportunity for a sing along, which is always a lot of fun.
Paul Bundyford, Milton Court Care Home Manager, commented: “It was great to see our residents get involved in raising money for such a worthy cause. They had so much fun and very much enjoyed mingling with our neighbours in the community.”
