A silver band signalled the opening of our residential care home in Milton Keynes, our newly refurbished nursing home in Kents Hill is one of the most respected of Milton Keynes care homes. All three floors have been refurbished and our dementia care community has its own dedicated suite. Our care home is set back from the A421 Standing Way and is easily accessible from neighbouring towns across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Milton Court is a thriving, companionable environment for those who need looking after in their later years. We put our focus on the individual needs of our residents and we encourage relatives and friends to be as involved as much as possible. Our Facebook page is alive with the comments and support of loved ones. We love to listen and our emphasis on life stories and their incorporation into care programmes is a feature of our care community. Listening to the residents reminiscing is always fascinating and sparks off many a conversation. Our care teams love to hear about life before so much of what we take for granted today.
Our spacious bedrooms come with en-suite wet rooms and TVs, and the lounges, scattered with colourful throws and rugs, make inviting spaces for friends and family to linger, let alone the residents. There’s always a place for a cosy chat – one to one conversations are a favourite activity – or for getting together in a communal activity.
Our new coffee lounge is inviting too, a lovely place for residents to take their morning drink, often with guests, after which they might use our garden for their morning constitutional and build up an appetite for lunch.
For those who need just a short break, we can offer term respite care for a minimum of a week’s stay.
To see what we get up to you might want to view our dedicated Facebook that is kept up to date with all the activities and goings on, or call our manager Paul Bundyford on 01908 699555 for more details or if you would like a look around. You are welcome to visit us at our proud Milton Keynes Nursing Home.
At Milton Court Care Home we put an emphasis on grasping life with both hands. Dancing round with umbrellas might not be for everyone, but we can guarantee that there will be something of interest to suit all tastes. Our Well-being Coordinators put on a full programme that also includes regular visits by local Milton Keynes schools and other groups. Here is just a selection of what we do:
Singing along with Sinatra songs
Portrait painting
Making chocolate brownies
Going out to Stowe House and Bletchley Park
Growing strawberries and tomatoes
Keeping fit the chair way
Petting ponies
Where well-being is concerned, we make sure we cater for mind, body and soul. Our minibus is always on hand to take residents out and about. Milton Keynes Museum is a favourite, as is Sunday lunch down the pub or just getting out into the Buckinghamshire countryside. We take technology in our stride too and as we’ve got Wi-Fi throughout the home (and people who know how to work it) we can keep in touch with loved ones far away through Skype. Any relative or friend who would like to join us is most welcome. The more the merrier at our Milton Keynes nursing home!
We don’t down champagne every day, of course, that’s reserved for very special occasions. And a diet of canapés would be a bit boring! But our chef and the kitchen team do their best to make sure that every meal is a delicious experience and something to look forward to. We realise that mealtimes are an important part of home life and we like to make them sociable affairs and our food as attractively presented as it is healthy and nutritious.
Everything is cooked from fresh — although we might buy in the ice cream! – and where possible, locally sourced from around Milton Keynes. There’s always a choice on the menu and we can cater for any dietary requirement. In fact we like our residents to have what they like. Most are very appreciative of the aperitif before dinner and the scrumptious cakes and snacks that are baked every day. Come in and try them for yourself!
