Milton Court Care Home achieves ‘Good’ in CQC Inspection
“Can’t get any better care, it’s like a five-star hotel.”
This is just one quote from our recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report for Milton Court Care Home, where we are proud to reveal our rating of ‘Good’ following the unannounced inspection at our beautiful home.
CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England, who monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. To achieve an overall assessment of ‘Good’ is a fantastic achievement, and our Home Manager Paul Bundyford was thrilled with the result.
Paul commented that “We have a philosophy and commitment to promoting independence and choice for our residents at Milton Court Care Home. We support this with the highest quality care and ensure we consider the needs of every individual. Milton Court is a home-from-home with a difference, offering friendship, a stimulating lifestyle and engaging activities. I am incredibly proud of all my team for their consistent and high-quality of care in achieving this result from the CQC.”
Our report had plenty of positive comments from residents, staff and visitors. Here are a few of our favourites:
One resident commented to CQC, “When I say this to you, I mean it, staff don’t just do the job, they do it from their heart and that makes me feel so good. They say to me they like to treat us like they would treat their own mother, you can’t get better than that can you.” Another person said, “They [the staff] are very kind, they treat me with dignity and respect. I have not come across a single one of them that hasn’t… nothing is too much trouble.”
Another person said, “Very well looked after they genuinely care, they respect mine and my husband’s privacy, and any guests we may have visit us. If we weren’t happy with the service we wouldn’t stay, everything is very good here. Our laundry is done, our rooms cleaned; top class care.”
When discussing living at Milton Court, one resident said, “My room is very good and my family helped me decorate, we moved the bed closer to the window and we brought some pieces of my furniture; the handyman helped me hang some photos and pictures so I am very happy with my living accommodation.” Another resident rated the food very highly, telling CQC that, “I think the food is very good indeed, it’s well-presented.”
CQC also commented that people were supported and cared for by a well-trained staff team. The report noted that all new staff undertook a thorough induction programme at Milton Court, which was specifically tailored to their roles and experience. One care staff said in the report that “It was the best induction I have ever had, really thorough and all face to face.”
