New Year Networking Event at Rivermere
Our first networking event of 2018 was a huge success as we welcomed Sevenoaks and District Chamber of Commerce to join us on Wednesday 3rd January.
It has been a year of change at our beautiful home following Avery’s new management at the start of 2017. Following the success of being awarded a Good in our most recent inspection from the Care Quality Commission, a fantastic achievement itself, we will now be undertaking an extensive refurbishment programme during summer 2018.
John Smith, a resident at our home who has lived here for seven years, also contributed some touching words about the diversity at Rivermere. Below are a few extracts from his article, which was also submitted to the local press:
Rivermere care home is a striking example of a small multifunctional organisation embracing individuals possessing a wide spread of experience and cultures, working harmoniously together as a team for the benefit of the residents… They are valued for their professional skills and ability to empathise with residents and to work cooperatively as members of a team.
The quality of the lives of the residents is enhanced by listening to members of the staff talking about their past experiences and out-of-hours interests.
As a resident I find contact with this diverse and highly motivated team enlivens my own life and provides a welcome uplift. Rarely a week passes without discovering a facet of life previously unknown to me… Recently the home has begun to offer work experience to students who intend to enter the care industry, a development which will further enrich the diversity of the Rivermere community.
Thank you John, for such a glowing review and giving us a great insight into life at Rivermere.
We will be welcoming Sevenoaks and District Chamber of Commerce very soon for another networking event, as we continue to develop these great links in our community. Be sure to keep an eye on Rivermere’s Facebook page for more upcoming events and we hope to see you at one soon!
