Birchwood Grange Receives Partner Certificate From NCS

Here at Birchwood Grange Care Home we love getting involved with our local community. So when the National Citizen Service (NCS) introduced themselves to us, we were delighted to invite them into our home to work on a project together.

NCS is a three to four week experience for 15 – 17 year olds to help build their confidence and self-belief. The programme has several phases where the teams come together and make a difference in their local community.

The young people who visited our care home got involved with our residents, listening and sharing stories together, organised and ran a gardening project and helped us fundraise. We all had a wonderful time learning a lot from each other.

We are very proud to have been sent the certificate below, signed by the Prime Minister herself, recognising our partnership with the NCS. We’re already looking forwards to next year’s programme!

This year Birchwood Grange Care Home also celebrated achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating in the care category from the Care Quality Commission, with an overall result of ‘Good’, as well as achieving a top 20 ranking from carehome.co.uk for in the Greater London region.
