Care Services Offered: Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care
Astbury Manor Care Home opened in August 2017 and is one of most popular residential homes. This three-storey care home in Bracknell has two floors devoted to residential care and one to dementia care, and is designed to a very high specification throughout from the landscaped and terraced grounds through to furniture and furnishings. Our building has won awards for its design and the way the spaces breath life into the care home is evident.
The home is a ten-minute walk from the centre of Bracknell, a town currently undergoing exciting new regeneration and development, and has very good transport links, being close to the railway station and the A322 which leads on to the M4.
Sometimes moving homes is a challenge but staff at Astbury Manor make the transition as seamless as possible, focusing on the needs of every individual under their care, while at the same time involving family and friends in the process. Strong bonds of communication are essential to a happy and well-run elder care community. We run our own Facebook which we update regularly so that family can keep in touch with what we are up to.
As for the physical environment, there are spacious single rooms as well as some companion suites for couples. All rooms are decorated and furnished in a calm and soothing style and equipped with wet rooms, television and telephone points; rooms on the ground floor open out onto the gardens. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms as they please.
Each floor has its own café/seating area and large dining area, and on the top floor there is a cinema room, spa room and hairdressing salon.
The manager, Jane McAuley is keen that residents will feel integrated in to the world around them and has already forged links with the local Bracknell community, including local nursery schools as well as Bracknell & Wokingham College. As for activities and pursuits, Jane stresses that her staff and her Wellbeing team will be guided by the wishes of the residents and will set up whatever is requested. You can rest assured that there will be daily activities to keep both mind and body active such as yoga, tai chi, armchair exercises, book clubs and outside talks, making full use of modern technology and computers along the way. In our Bracknell care home you are never too old to learn!
The minibus will be at the residents’ disposal and take them to wherever they would like to go, whether it’s just a shopping or pub trip or a visit to a stately home or garden. There are plenty to interest in the local area.
Not only will residents be able to choose what they eat they will also be able to choose when they eat. Some might like their main meal at mid-day, others in the evening; some to eat in a communal setting, others on their own. Whatever the time of day or setting, all food is on the extensive menu is cooked to order, guaranteed to be fresh, locally sourced and of a high restaurant standard. Many of our suppliers and producers are based in Bracknell. Healthy snacks, teas and coffees are available all day at our nursing home. Naturally, all special diets will be catered for and personal favourites noted. At our care home in Bracknell, we understand the importance that food plays in the social life of the home.
There will be two private dining area where friends and families can arrange intimate get-togethers and parties for special occasions. Visitors will be welcome at any time to join the Astbury Manor family for a morning coffee or a full-scale meal and see, or rather taste for themselves the high quality we have on offer.
