Celebrating in Style: Astbury Manor receive Playlist for Life Accreditation

Company News, Astbury Manor

Care staff at Astbury Manor Care Home, in Bracknell, have just recently received their Playlist for Life accreditation.

Well-being and Activities co-ordinator, Ben Lambert, documented how Playlist for Life was incorporated into their work with resident Jessie, who is living with dementia.

He said, “Jessie reacted well to the fun songs. And we noticed that this left her feeling calmer and more relaxed afterwards”.

Ben also commented on the fact that music is at the forefront of all care at Astbury Manor, and care staff members were keen to get involved in the Playlist for Life activities because they could see the positive effect it was having on resident Jessie.

Heather Perkins, Avery’s Dementia Support Advisor, commented, “It’s a testament to our teams that, despite the challenges they have faced, they have been able to engage so enthusiastically with Playlist for life to use music in such a powerful and personal way for our residents”.
