“Approachable, kind and caring”: Acorn Lodge CQC Report

Acorn Lodge Care Home in Nuneaton recently received a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report, finding that staff members provide “high-quality, person-centred care” with a “passionate and positive home culture.”

The report awarded a Good; in all five categories, including Safe and Well-led. It described the caring, approachable nature of the team, with one relative commenting, “Staff are thoughtful and helpful. They treat residents with kindness.” Dedicated Well-being and Activities Co-ordinators provide a range of activities and events to support residents’ social, psychological, and emotional well-being. In addition, loved ones are invited to events, with the team hosting a luxury afternoon tea as part of their celebrations for Mother’s Day.

Staff members also spoke positively about the training they had received, supporting them to maintain high standards of care. One team member explained, “I have received thorough training to support residents living with dementia, which allows me to provide person-centred care with empathy and understanding.”

Delighted with the result of the report, Home Manager, Jacky West, stated, “We are so proud of the outcome of our CQC inspection, which reflects the hard work and dedication of our team.”
