Aire View Wins Christmas Tree Competition
We really got into the spirit this Christmas at Aire View Care Home as we joined together to create a beautiful tabletop Christmas tree. Our creation was then entered into a national competition, where we are one of the five winners!
We started off building the tree by gluing penne pasta pieces together to create the tree shape. Once the tree was built, we then spray painted it before hand-painting with glitter paint. Our residents then threaded glass beads to create the garlands before we added fairy lights, a star on the top and a range of little gifts to be placed underneath.
Originally we designed our tree as a tabletop decoration, but when we heard about National Activity Providers Association (NAPA)’s Christmas Tree Competition, we knew we had to join in! NAPA, founded in 1997, is a membership organisation and is dedicated to increasing the profile of activity needs for older people.
We have now received an email from NAPA, informing us that we were one of the five winners of the competition! NAPA kindly sent us some activity related gifts for our residents and we can’t wait to use them.
