Elvy Court Care Home enjoys a tranquil setting in a quiet residential area of Sittingbourne in Kent. It’s just a gentle walk to the bustling town centre and there are easy connections across Kent.
Many of the staff have been part of the Elvy Court care team for over a decade and our home enjoys a long-standing reputation for welcoming and reassuring both residents and their loved ones as well. When times are difficult, carers need support too. Those that live here will find round-the-clock, excellent care, companionship and compassion from a dedicated team of professionals. Everyone is treated with equal dignity and respect, and actively encouraged to maintain relationships and engage with social activities as much as they can.
All our bedrooms are spacious and have walk-in showers and TVs. Some ground floor rooms open out on to the garden. There are plenty of lounges where there is space to be sociable, join in with activities or just to be quiet in. Our café is a popular spot for a morning coffee and meeting up with friends old and new.
We make use of the latest technology in our Memory Care programme and keep up–to-date on the latest thinking in dementia to ensure that our residents are in the best place and their families have peace of mind.
To see what we get up to you might want to view our dedicated Facebook which is kept updated with all the activities and goings on in the home. Alternatively, call our friendly manager Silvia Barret on 01795 437449, she will answer any questions you may have or arrange a tour for you with our front of house team.
Dreamboats and Petticoats
We find trips down Memory Lane fun for the staff and stimulating for the residents. Reminiscing is often educational for us and envigorating for the residents, sparking off conversations. And talking of sparks, we are avid readers of the Daily Sparkle, the reminiscence magazine devised for homes such as ours, to get people talking. Our Dreamboats and Petticoats evening also got the residents moving – if not on the dance floor then getting with it in their chairs. Our approach is holistic, that is we care for mind and body, keeping brains and bones active, and our energetic Activity Coordinators enjoy devising a fun programme that will have something for everyone. Our residents also enjoy clambering aboard the minibus, getting out and about and finding new places to visit. .
Elvy Court has established strong ties with local schools and associations who play a valuable role in ensuring residents remain part of the wider community. We fundraise for local charities.
Like every young person today, we are up to speed with screens and make use of ipads and the internet both as resources and as a means of fostering good communications. Our Facebook pages keep family and friends in the loop and encourage them to come along and join in with whatever is going on. The more the merrier!

Elvy Court Nursing Home
Thank you to the team for looking after my mother. I wish to express special thanks to Rhiannon the activities coordinator for the improvement I can see. Rhiannon runs quizzes games and functions. it was a great day out at the Faversham transport show I especially enjoyed the alfresco fish and chip dinner at the home last week it was a pleasant day for residents and families well done.
I will pass on your message to Rhianon.
My Mum is coming to Elvy next week. We visited today with a little concern given the CQC review. What a fantastic place. The staff are caring, understanding and thoughtful. Everyone seemed genuinely happy, staff and residents. Sylvia was so helpful and understanding. I feel so reassured that my Mum is coming to stay with you. This is a very difficult time for Mum and the family and I now feel totally relaxed about her care. Thank you so much. If I can be of any help with a review for CQC please just let me know. Jo Leeks
Spoilt For Choice
We realise that mealtimes are focal points of the day and much anticipated, but also that palates change and appetites wane as people get older or are recovering from illness. So our chef makes sure that all food is of the best quality, fresh, and locally sourced if possible, at the same time making it look as tempting as possible. There’s a choice at every mealtime and any special dietary needs are catered for. If someone fancies that special something that isn’t on the menu that day, we’ll do our best to rustle it up for them.
Delicious home baked cakes and fresh pastries available throughout the day, along with fresh fruit, juices and drinks. And if a relative or friend would like to share a meal and a glass of wine with us, they are very welcome to do so.
