A Wonderful Christmas Fayre at Avalon Court
We at Avalon Court Care Home, Coventry, hosted a fun and exciting afternoon for all residents and guests at our Christmas Fayre. Our Fayre involved a very enjoyable pantomime plus a visit from Santa and his little shetland pony helpers! All this festive fun was in aid of Zoe’s Place, which is an independent registered Charity providing palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants aged from birth to 5 years suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
The pantomime, which was performed by ‘Dally About The Bush’ gave us a fantastic rendition of ‘Rumpelstiltskin’, a popular tale about an imp trying to steal a lady’s new-born. It was both riveting and hilarious to watch. Shortly afterwards, Santa and his little helpers paid a special visit from the North Pole to spread some Christmas joy. He even came with a large supply of presents for our younger guests who enjoyed the Fayre with us.
There were numerous presents donated from our amazing guests; the home also collected gift donations for the children at Zoe’s Place. Some of the staff and residents went down to visit the children and give them their presents which was a magical experience for all. Due to our guest’s generosity, we will be giving the children at Zoe’s Place a Christmas to remember!
Rick Bloomer, Avalon Court’s Home Manager commented: ‘Today’s success was all down to the excellent organisation set by the staff of this exceptional home, and with my team, I knew this Christmas Fayre would be our best one yet!’ He made a final remark stating: ‘We want to say a big thank you to all who donated to Zoe’s Place and making the lives of those children that bit happier. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas in the days to come.’
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
