Albion Court is a purpose-built residential care home on Clinton Street, in the Winson Green district of Birmingham, close to the city centre. We offer residential and dementia care plus also shorter term respite stays. Our residents are drawn from across Birmingham, from towns such as Sandwell, Handsworth, Ladywood, Bearwood and Smethwick. Our care home was recently awarded a rating of Good overall by the Care Quality Commission.
We are a diverse bunch and that includes our excellent care teams and support staff. We are definitely more than the sum of our parts! Our rich cultural mix is reflected in our meals and the entertainment we enjoy. It is something in which we are very proud. We have a strong community outreach programme, and welcome many groups into our home but we also like to get out and spend time embedded within the various communities from which we draw. We are very much a reflection of Birmingham’s rich cultural heritage and proudly of it.
The range of activities on offer is also varied; including monthly visits from professional entertainers such as Bollywood dancers, African drummers, Soul and Mowtown artists, Jazz musicians and classical music performers. There are regular services from representatives of various faiths and local churches, including a monthly visit from a local church gospel choir.
Albion Court has been designed to be a communal and comfortable environment, where we can deliver a high standard of round-the-clock care that centres on the well-being of each individual. We stress the importance of a holistic approach in home life, giving both mind and body equal care and attention, along with the values of respect and dignity.
Our light and airy bedrooms have walk-in showers, and can be equipped with electric profiling beds if needed. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms as much as possible, and we find having familiar things around them eases the transition into their new home.
Our lounges provide a relaxing, communal atmosphere, with plenty of space for activities as well as quiet areas for those who prefer a more peaceful atmosphere or want private time with loved ones. Many of the doors open out onto gardens, bringing the outside in on warmer days.
We encourage as much contact with friends, families and community groups as possible, we believe that everyone should be able to maintain the relations they had prior to arriving at Albion Court. It’s all part of our philosophy of care, we understand that good care and companionship is built on lasting, stable relationships.

Friendly and Fun
Daily life at our Birmingham care home is as fun and engaging as we can make it. Our Well-being Coordinators see to it that there are a diverse array of activities that reflect what is one of the most proudly diverse care homes in Birmingham. These activities are a rich mix and suitable for all levels of ability, we positively encourage the development of individual hobbies and interests. Some of the activities most popular with our residents include music of all backgrounds, poetry, quizzes, arts and crafts, armchair exercises and film screenings. For those who want it, we also receive guests from different local faith groups on a regular basis.
We regularly have live entertainers to perform at the home as well as visits from local schools – children can always be guaranteed to raise a smile. In fact we welcome all friends and relatives to visit and bring children and grandchildren with them, so that connections across the generations can be maintained. On top of this, we love to explore outside the home in our own minibus. The shops are always a favoured destination, as is the Sea Life Centre in the centre of Birmingham, and the occasional tasty meal at the local pub always goes down well.Contact the Home
