Middleton Lodge’s Senior Carer Takes the Plunge for Alzheimer’s Society

Middleton Lodge Care Home in Derby is full of excitement and admiration as Senior Carer Hannah McHale prepares for an extraordinary feat.

On Sunday 26th May, Hannah will take to the skies for a 15,000-ft skydive at Langar Airfield to support Alzheimer’s Society. This courageous act aims to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

According to Alzheimer’s Society, around 900,000 people in the UK currently have dementia, with the number expected to exceed one million by 2025, and one in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.

The 25-year-old decided to take on the challenge for Alzheimer’s Society after seeing the impact the neurodegenerative disease had on some residents and their families whilst working at Middleton Lodge Care Home.

Hannah shared, “Working at Middleton Lodge Care Home opened my eyes to the devastating impact of Alzheimer’s disease. It inspired me to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity doing incredible work.

“Raising funds for such an invaluable cause has been deeply rewarding. Not only will the donations help countless people, but they have also driven me to achieve something I never thought possible, and I’m incredibly proud of that.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me and donated. Together, we have the power to create a substantial ripple in the fight against Alzheimer’s, making a real difference that many will benefit from.”

As the jump date draws near, the Middleton Lodge Care Home community unites behind Hannah, cheering her on and actively contributing to her fundraising efforts.
