Fun with Facebook! | Welcome Home Autumn 2018

From canal boats trips to mystery minibus tours, strolls down the pier to a pint in the pub; our care homes have a fantastic time exploring the great outdoors. These outings always go down a treat on our Facebook pages and the stunning summer sun provided the perfect setting for some dazzling photos and super stories.

Here are some of our favourites. Residents at Avonmere Care Home in Bristol found their sea legs as they set off on the waters on an adventurous boat trip. The photos were certainly eye-catching as they sailed past Brunel’s SS Great Britain and explored the harbour-side. It was so popular they’ve already made a return visit too!

Rowan Court Care Home’s post captured the moment of awe as residents observed the iconic Weeping Willow poppy installation at Middleport Pottery. The powerful pop of red in their photo of the several thousand ceramic handmade poppies caught a lot of attention online, being especially relevant as we approach the centenary of the end of the First World War. The post not only showed a great trip out but emphasised the importance of reminiscence for our residents.

It’s clear that group outings are a particular favourite at all our care homes and we love sharing those authentic smiles on film so that friends and family are able to see what we’re getting up to regularly.

Our Top Tip:

The top tip for this issue is to make your photos stand out. Focus on photos of special moments, introduce some bright colours and ensure you have good lighting. It will really make your photos pop! Make them bright and eye-catching and you’re sure to get plenty of Likes on your next post.
