Avery Success at the Care Home Awards 2022
A wide range of the care sector’s leading providers gathered to celebrate all the best in the UK care sector at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London, on 1st July for the Care Home Awards 2022. Against worthy competition in all the categories, Avery scooped two awards: Best Care Home Marketing, Advertising or PR activities and Best for Nutrition, Food and Dining.
Producing a calendar of key events and activities throughout the year, our marketing team support our homes with a range of offline and online marketing and advertising materials, generating sales enquiries and new admissions. Recent marketing campaigns have proved successful, including Dementia Action Week, the launch of our Cutlery-free Dining initiative, #AveryAdvent, a collaboration between residents and the marketing department to share Christmas tree decorations with the local community, and fundraising for a number of causes including The Care Workers’ Charity.

Simon Lawrence, Head of Culinary and Hospitality, closely aided by Gareth Cartledge, Regional Culinary and Hospitality Manager, are passionate about the support they provide Avery’s chefs right across the country. Menus nourish the body, balancing flavours, textures, and colours and kitchen teams undergo bespoke training to better understand our residents’ needs and support them in their daily lives.
Sharing his delight, Simon said; “Food forms a strong link to our identity and heritage; we believe this should not be lost when an individual moves into a care home. Our chefs take time to listen to the likes and preferences of our residents, developing meals they can enjoy each day and I am thrilled that the team have been recognised with this award!”
