Avery Healthcare Celebrates International Nurses’ Day

May 12th marked International Nurses’ Day, a day in which we globally recognise and celebrate the contributions nurses make to society. The ICN – International Council of Nurses (ICN) commemorates this important day each year by choosing a theme to mark the occasion. This year’s theme is A Voice to Lead with the sub-theme: A Vision for Future Healthcare.

To express gratitude for the continuous hard work Avery nurses provide for their residents every day, Avery Healthcare distributed personalised boxes of chocolates to all nurses across the organisation. Many of our homes got involved in festivities throughout the day, including afternoon tea parties, crafting and ceremonies to celebrate their staff.

The dedicated team at Bourn View went above and beyond for their residents, presenting their retired nurses with certificates and gifts for their lifetime achievements in the sector. And at Avery Park, the in-house nurses were surprised with gifts and treats, including Home Manager, Rex Pudol.
