Droitwich Mews Care Home in Droitwich Spa
Care Services Offered: Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care
Awards: Winner of Health Investors Residential Care Home Provider of 2020
Features: Strong community links, Focus on individually-led care, Spa and therapy rooms, Cinema, Activity room, Outdoor terraces and Private dining spaces.
Our brand new care home in Droitwich opened in October 2020. Once the site of the Spring Meadow pub, the purpose-built home provides residential, dementia and respite care in a warm and cosy environment.
Our 70-bed home has 3 floors and includes a cafe, library, cinema, spa room and hair salon. Residents can relax in the lounge or garden room, overlooking a working garden that green-fingered residents enjoy tending themselves.
The team at Droitwich Mews greet residents with a heartwarming smile every day and fill the halls with laughter. Our commitment to forming a close bond with residents and making our care home community feel like a family is why we’re one of the best care homes in Worcestershire.
As well as residential and respite care, we also specialise in dementia care in Droitwich, and have a floor dedicated to memory care, including 2 lounges, a games room and a cafe for friends and family to catch up over tea and cake.
For people living with dementia and their families, finding the right care can be an emotional and challenging experience. We have an individual approach to dementia care to make sure residents have a happy and fulfilling life in the safety of our care home, and we encourage them to mix with other residents if they want to.
Our dedicated dementia care programme, ReConnect, includes Life Story Work to help the team engage with residents and a music therapy approach called Playlist for Life. Music is a powerful way of exploring memories and enjoying shared experiences, and is just as effective for people living with cognitive impairment.
Meet Joanne, our care home manager
Our care home manager, Joanne Gill, has worked in care for more than 30 years and has 15 years’ experience managing care homes. With her natural empathy and dedication to client wellbeing, we thought she was the perfect choice to run our care home in Droitwich.
Joanne loves nothing more than seeing happy residents, and only hires genuinely caring and compassionate people to join the Droitwich Mews family. Her aim is for residents to live life as fully as possible within a safe and caring environment.
Fun and games at Droitwich Mews
No one knows what residents at Droitwich Mews enjoy doing like the residents themselves. That’s why the wellbeing team let them take the lead when it comes to activities, whether that’s playing bridge, or exploring local landmarks like Chateau Impney, Stratford Butterfly Farm or Norbury Theatre.
The home also has its own minibus ready to take residents for tea at The Button Tree, for some exercise as Droitwich Lido, or to combine the 2 at Hadley Bowling Green.
Our care home is just a few miles away from the train station and off the A38, making it easy for family and friends to visit. And with so many facilities to enjoy with their loved ones, we’re never short of visitors.
Food Glorious Food
Food is such an important part of life and moving into a home shouldn’t mean being served the same bland food day in day out. Our award-winning chefs put together a delicious and varied menu that’s nutritious and meets our residents’ dietary and cultural needs.
Residents can choose from traditional to exotic meals and maybe even find a few new favourites. Meals are served in the communal or private dining room with beautiful crockery and table service — it’s like eating out every day! Of course, for residents who prefer a little privacy, we’ll serve them in their room with the same care and attention to detail.
Guests are welcome to join us at our cafes, and we can arrange private get-togethers to celebrate special occasions with friends and family.
