Hanford Court Care Home is a state-of-the-art luxury care and retirement home in Hanford, Stoke-on-Trent, close to the A34 Stone Road. This stunning Staffordshire home enjoys views of the Trentham Estate and provides residential, dementia and shorter-term respite care for the elderly of the area. Our residential home was recently awarded an overall inspection report rating of Good by the Care Quality Commission and was particularly pleased to be awarded an Outstanding rating in the category for Care.
Our high-calibre staff is dedicated to the residents’ well-being, and like nothing better than to raise a smile. A smile is infectious! We focus is on the needs of the individual in a holistic way — mind, body and soul being of equal importance.
The design of the building contributes in no small way to the standard of life. All our bedrooms are generously sized and have en-suite with walk-in wet rooms, DVD players and wall mounted TVs. The variety of lounges caters for those who like to be sociable or equally to sit quietly by the fire with a good book. There are plenty of corners where families and friends can have a good old private natter.
The home has excellent relations within the local community and regularly accepts visits from local schools and other groups. We like to keep our Facebook updated with our daily goings on and there is free Wi-Fi throughout the home. Many of our residents stay well connected to family and friends through this and we always work to support residents who wish to explore the possibilities that the internet brings.
To see what we get up to you might want to view our dedicated Facebook that is kept up to date with all the activities and goings-on in the home, or call our friendly manager Gemma Boot on 01782 645140 if you have any further questions or wish to arrange a show around with our front of house team.
The home enjoys fine facilities that all our residents and their guests are free to enjoy, such as a large rear garden that is beautifully landscaped and a good, sociable spot when the weather is fine. There is also a separate and contained garden for those residents in our Memory Care Suite.
Our dedicated Activity Coordinators ensure that all of our residents enjoy an active and engaged lifestyle, and organise a variety of individual and group activities that promote social interaction and often raise a laugh. Daily sessions range from doing jigsaw puzzles, discussing poetry and books to arts and crafts, gardening and baking. We also have a projector that allows us to enjoy afternoon film matinées, a bag of popcorn by our side. Hope they don’t spill it all on the floor!
Our care home manager has built strong ties with the local community, allowing us to welcome school choirs and church groups as regular guests. As well as all the things we enjoy in the home itself, we arrange trips out, in our own minibus, to the theatre, local museums and occasionally to the seaside.
Dining is a central part of life at our retirement home. We pride ourselves on the delicious, nutritious meals that our highly trained chefs prepare daily. We use fresh, high-quality and, where possible, locally sourced produce in the meals that we prepare. A choice of food is always available at all the main meals of the day and between these, there is a range of snacks to nibble on. Chef and his team delight us with freshly baked cakes and biscuits and on warm summer days and evenings, tea in the garden in a shady spot is lovely and relaxing.
Our menus are shaped by the tastes and preferences of our diners: residents can get involved in meal planning and presentation. We do our best to cater for all dietary requirements — just let us know if you have any particular needs. We love to entertain residents’ family and friends, so guests are very welcome at any time to join us for a bite to eat, or maybe a glass of wine.
