Proof is in The Pudding – St Giles raises money for Charities

Donning their best aprons, residents, relatives and staff at St Giles Nursing Home baked up a feast of treats to support two fantastic charities.
St Giles started their fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Research by joining in with the Blooming Great Tea Party event. After baking some delicious cakes, relatives and staff sold slices with tea and coffee alongside a highly successful raffle where prizes were kindly donated by staff and residents’ families.
After raising a fantastic £305 for Marie Curie Cancer Research, St Giles didn’t stop there! The team leapt straight into fundraising for another worthy cause. A second cake sale for The British Heart Foundation managed to raise £130 after holding a St Giles ‘Bake Off’ event, where staff competed in baking heart shapes cakes to sell.
Debbie Rowley, Home Manager, said, “We are delighted to have raised so much for these two great causes. We have a fantastic team here at St. Giles and it was great to see staff, residents and families all getting involved. We are already looking forwards to our next big cake sale event!”
St. Giles Nursing Home is currently undergoing an extensive £250,000 refurbishment and the team are looking forward to continuing their high standard of care in a suitably beautiful environment when the refurbishment is complete.
