Birchmere House Shines in Latest CQC Report!
Following a recent unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our beautiful Birchmere House Care Home has been rated as ‘Good in All Categories’!
CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England, who monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. They have evaluated us against their five key categories of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led, and found that Birchmere House and our staff have scored consistently highly throughout! It’s a great turnaround within twelve months; having previously been rated as ‘Requires Improvement’ on several occasions. So, we are all incredibly proud of this result, following the transformation of our care delivery and services.
Here are some of the highlights from the report:
“The atmosphere at Birchmere House was warm and friendly. People told us the staff were caring and showed them kindness” and “We saw and people told us they were always treated with dignity and respect.”
Resident comments included: “The staff are lovely, very patient people.” Visiting relatives also told the CQC, “It’s very safe, there is nothing that I can think of that would improve the level of safety,” and “As a family, we are happy with everything. It was mum and dad’s choice to come here.”
Our Manager, Rachel Walker, was thrilled with the result and couldn’t wait to celebrate. “The staff have worked hard to turn around the service to Good in All Categories within such a short time, demonstrating their commitment and passion to improve the quality of care and well-being for the residents. Well done everyone and thank you!”
