Silvermere’s Charity Garden Party a Huge Success!
We recently hosted a fabulous charity garden party here at Silvermere Care Home, Cobham. Thankfully the sun was kind of enough to keep shining, and we all had plenty of fun and laughter as we raised nearly £350 for the Woking and Weybridge Parkinson’s Group!
We opened our doors to welcome in the local community of family fun with residents, families and friends joining in. The Mayor and Consort even arrived to support us as special guests at the event. A Pearly King, Pearly Queen, and Pearly Prince serenaded us, along with the City String Ensemble and other entertainment for the day.
Alongside the live music was a fabulous array of BBQ food and refreshments prepared by our talented kitchen team, face painting for the children, a stall by the Canine Partners, an Aloe Vera stall and Sassy Gifts stall selling an assortment of items. We also held a raffle with prizes donated from local businesses including; a voucher from Topgolf, flower display from a local florist, a tasty fruit basket, reflexology voucher and Annual Membership for four at Painshill Park. Many other items donated by friends and family of residents were also raffled to add to the grand total.
Rose O’Mara, Home Manager, commented: “Throughout the year we ensure that we support a range of causes from large national charities through to smaller local entities too. Parkinson’s affects so many lives and the charity are striving to continue their research so that they can drive better care, treatments, and quality of life; we were delighted that our event was so well supported, enabling us to donate a total of £347 to this worthwhile cause.”
A big thank you to everyone who visited, supported and donated items – we couldn’t have done this without you. Together we made our garden party an exceptional event, raising money for such a worthy cause. We welcome you to come back and visit us at any time.

Silvermere, as one of the flagships of the Avery Healthcare Group, has recently supported several other charities too, helping Avery raise over £5,000 for charity. You can see more about what we get up to in our Avery magazine Welcome Home, or see our recent trip where we all sang “Oh we do like to be beside the seaside“!.
