St Giles Care Home rated Good in CQC inspection

Following a recent unannounced inspection, our beautiful St Giles Care Home has been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)!

Previously we had been rated as Requires Improvement, but now we have been transformed in both our care delivery and services, as well as in our environment after a stunning refurbishment. This is a magnificent turnaround, so a big well done and thank you goes to everyone who is part of our beautiful home. We couldn’t have done it without your continued support and hard work.

Here are some of our favourite quotes from the report, which you can read in full on the CQC’s website:

‘People said staff were caring and treated them with respect.’

Resident comments included: “I am safe. They go the extra mile” and “I’m well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble.”

One relative commented, “They feel safe and are safe; no doubt about that.” Visiting relatives also told the CQC, “Staff are respectful in the way that they do things.”

One person sent in a card saying ‘Thank you for your help and care in looking after my relative. You are all such caring, calm and dedicated people.’

Our Home Manager Debbie Rowley commented: “We are thrilled to celebrate this great achievement, especially from previous ratings of Requires Improvement. The staff have worked hard to turn around the service to a Good within such a short time, demonstrating their commitment and passion to improve the quality of care and well-being for the residents.”

We welcome you to see our home for yourself. Come and join us at our Royal Tea celebration on Saturday 19th May or call us to arrange a visit at a time convenient for you. We also regularly upload stories about our daily life on our St Giles Care Home Facebook page.
