Care homes in Droitwich don’t get much friendlier than ours. The team at Droitwich Mews greets residents with a heartwarming smile every day and fills the halls with laughter. We have a commitment to forming a close bond with residents, making our care home community feel like a family.
As well as residential and respite care, we also specialise in dementia care, and have a floor dedicated to memory care, including two lounges, a games room and a cafe for friends and family to catch up over tea and cake. The close relationships our staff have with our residents is why we’re one of the best dementia care homes in Droitwich.
The well-being team at Droitwich Mews allows the residents to take the lead when it comes to choosing activities, whether that’s playing bridge or exploring local landmarks like Chateau Impney, Stratford Butterfly Farm or Norbury Theatre.
The home also has its own minibus ready to take residents for tea at The Button Tree, for some exercise at Droitwich Lido, or to combine the two at Hadley Bowling Green, and for meaningful day trips.
Our care home is just a few miles away from the train station and off the A38, making it easy for family and friends to visit. With so many facilities to enjoy with their loved ones, we’re never short of visitors.
With over 10 years of experience in the care industry, I began my journey as a Care Assistant and have since worked across all departments, gaining a deep understanding of what it takes to provide truly person-centred care. I joined Avery in September 2024 and am currently completing my Level 5 qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care. My background includes many years in nursing care, where I developed a strong foundation of clinical knowledge and hands-on experience.
Droitwich Mews is a beautiful home with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that everyone comments on the moment they walk through our doors. It’s a joy to be part of a team that creates such a special place, where residents feel at home, receive high-quality care, and are supported to live their best lives. We love welcoming new people into our Droitwich Mews family!
With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I began my journey as a Care Assistant before progressing to Senior Health Care Assistant – a role that deepened my passion for making a difference in people’s lives. I then joined the Alzheimer’s Society, where I worked as an Events and Customer Service Coordinator before becoming a Lead Wellbeing Coordinator, a role I held for 8 years. It was during this time that I discovered my love for marketing and social media, which eventually led me to my current role as Client Liaison Manager at Droitwich Mews.
I genuinely love every aspect of my job – from providing excellent customer service to residents and families to organising events that bring joy and connection to the home and wider community. Droitwich Mews is incredibly special to me. The warmth, kindness, and family atmosphere here make it a truly wonderful place, and I feel proud to be part of such a dedicated team.
I have over 30 years of experience in administration and more than 15 years in the care industry, which I love. I really enjoy coming to work every day, seeing the residents and working alongside my amazing colleagues. Working at Droitwich Mews is such a pleasure, everyone is very friendly, helpful, supportive and kind, you instantly feel at home in this wonderful environment. We are all here to give the best care, support, and create a lovely home for all the residents to enjoy.
With 24 years of experience as a chef, I began my career in hotels before moving on to pubs and convention centres. Over the years, I’ve had the honour of cooking for the Queen, Prime Ministers, Ocean Colour Scene, Simon Cowell, and the casts of Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor. I’ve always loved creating food that brings people joy. For the past four years, I’ve been proud to work at Droitwich Mews, where I collaborate closely with our residents to ensure they’re happy and well cared for. It’s a pleasure to cook here, and I truly love what I do.
With over six years of experience in the care industry, I took on the role of Head of Housekeeping 18 months ago. Since then, I have focused on transforming our team’s approach, fostering a positive, collaborative spirit and ensuring the highest cleaning standards throughout the care home. The happiness and well-being of our residents are always my top priority. I take great pride in our incredible team – our dedication, teamwork, and passion truly make a difference every day.
I’ve worked in the plumbing and building trade for over 30 years and spent the last 12+ years in the care industry as a maintenance technician. I bring a wealth of experience to Avery, but what I enjoy most is meeting the residents and hearing their incredible stories. I’ve built great relationships with the staff—we’re like one big family. No two days are the same, and that variety is what makes my job so rewarding and interesting.
