It was inspiring to see our care homes spreading kindness and festive cheer within their communities throughout December.
Winchester Heights Care Home in Winchester participated in Project Secret Santa, a local initiative providing Christmas stockings to vulnerable children in Hampshire.
Thanks to donations from residents, families, and staff, they contributed to the total of 577 children having a stocking to open on Christmas Day.
At Crispin Court Care Home in Stafford, the team joined Santa on a visit to Dougie Mac hospice, bringing gifts and festive wishes.
Customer Services Manager Tara Blurton stated, “I can’t tell you how touching and moving this was. The staff there are an amazing bunch, completely dedicated to their job, and it was very humbling.”
Miramar Care Home in Kent raised £334.70 through their Christmas Fair and presented a cheque to Beltinge Village Hall. Chairman Andrew expressed a huge thanks for their support and excitement about future community opportunities.
Meanwhile, Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol hosted a spirited Christmas Fayre, which featured a tombola, a raffle, and a pop-up shoe shop. They raised an impressive £474.35 for supporting Time is Precious and The Guild of Friends of the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
As we look ahead into 2025, all our Avery homes remain committed to strengthening our community bonds and look forward to more opportunities to bring joy and connection to those around us.
