Since Birchmere House Care Home was added to Avery Healthcare’s portfolio, it has undergone a large transition to become in line with the high standards in which Avery are known for. Here at Birchmere House, we offer top quality nursing, residential and respite care in Solihull.
The home is set on border of the Copt Heath Golf Club in the West Midlands and is within easy reach of the M42.
Avery’s staff realise that life changes are inevitable and if independence is lessened it can be stressful when not handled carefully. They are therefore committed to giving residents in their care active and fulfilled lives in a relaxed and caring environment. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and are encouraged to bring their personal belongings and keepsakes with them to their new home. All bedrooms are fully furnished and come with a walk-in shower, television and telephone points.
The ground-floor bistro is a lively gathering area within Birchmere House Care Home. It’s a place where residents can share a cup of coffee, have a natter and meet their visitors. There are comfortable lounges where activities often take place – word and board games are a firm favourite among residents. Sweet melodies on the piano can often be heard either played by one of our talented residents or a visiting entertainer.
The surrounding gardens offer multiple spots for enjoying the summer sun, relaxing with a book, sipping on a cup of tea or just watching the world go by. You’ll often find the residents of Birchmere House out and about, having taken a trip on our minibus to the park or the local shops.
Our food is all cooked on-site, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients used where possible. Our chefs enjoy cooking in line with the seasons, offering our residents three nutritional and balanced meals each day. Our chef also enjoys preparing special treats for birthdays or other special occasions, often devising culinary delights for our themed evenings. The mocktails at the recent Caribbean evening proved very popular!
