Two carers at Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester took fundraising to new heights, taking on a skydive for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Senior Carers at Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester, Sheena Hastings and Jess Wingfield, completed a skydive on 24th September in Nottingham, raising £1400 for the Alzheimer’s Society, surpassing their target by nearly 50%.
Alzheimer’s Society is the leading dementia charity in the UK. They offer vital support to those who need it, fund groundbreaking research, and campaign to improve the experience of those affected by dementia.
Justyna Bartyska, Client Liaison Manager at Lady Jane Court Care Home, said, “We are all very proud of their courage and commitment. It was an amazing day with our team and residents showing up to show their support for Jess and Sheena as they took the leap in the name of charity.”
Lady Jane Court Care Home offers both residential and dementia care, enabling residents to live with comfort, dignity, and respect. Jess and Sheena work directly with people living with dementia and want to make a real difference to the lives of those affected by the condition.
Sheena Hastings, Senior Carer at Lady Jane Court Care Home, stated, “The skydive was absolutely incredible! All the nerves disappeared the moment I jumped, and it was such an amazing feeling of accomplishment. I’m so proud of myself and Jess for taking on the challenge.”
Jess Wingfield, Senior Carer at Lady Jane Court Care Home, said, “Completing the skydive was an unforgettable experience. Every day we see how dementia affects our residents and their loved ones, so it means so much that Sheena and I were able to support Alzheimer’s Society in such a special way.”
