Joe Maxwell, Home Manager at Rivermere Care Home, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Stars of Social Care – Care Home Awards 2026 in the category of The Inspirational Care Home Manager Award (South & East of England).
The Stars of Social Care Awards are now in their fourth year. The awards shine a light on the stars of social care, paying tribute to the workforce who, through dedication and a commitment to care, go above and beyond to support those who are most vulnerable.
Joe Maxwell leads Rivermere Care Home with over 15 years of healthcare leadership experience and a passion for delivering exceptional, person-centred care. Joe believes that every department plays a vital role in the “orchestra” of a care home, providing outstanding care and meaningful experiences for residents and families.
Joe Maxwell shared his thoughts, “It is an absolute privilege to be shortlisted for this award and to represent the incredible team at Rivermere Care Home. I firmly believe a care home is like an orchestra, where every department plays an essential part — from the melody of hospitality, the rhythm of our kitchen team, the compassion of carers, the harmony of housekeeping, the precision of maintenance, the coordination of administration, and the energy of our wellbeing team. Together, they create a symphony of exceptional care, dignity, and meaningful experiences for our residents and families every single day.”
All shortlisted entries will be reviewed by an expert panel of judges, who have a wealth of experience in the sector and are passionate about recognising and shining a light on outstanding teams across social care.
The winners for each category will then be announced at the Stars of Social Care – Care Home Awards 2026 ceremony on Saturday, 13th June 2026 at The Leonardo Royal London St Paul’s, hosted by ITV’s This Morning’s Josie Gibson.
