National Mad Hatter Day!
October 6th marks National Mad Hatter Day, a day to bring out your silly side and celebrate the much beloved Alice in Wonderland character, created by Lewis Carroll. Typically, The Hatter acts rather silly, so participants of the day were encouraged to follow suit.
Not one to miss an occasion to celebrate, staff and residents at Acorn Lodge Care Home in Nuneaton commemorated the day by throwing an afternoon tea party for keen residents. The dining room was transformed into its own Wonderland, with monochrome table cloths, playing card decorations, and tea-themed bunting.
Attendees of The Mad Hatter Tea party, of course, donned their silliest hats for the occasion. Photos of the afternoon were shared to Acorn Lodge’s Facebook page, to the delight of relatives, with one commenting, “What lovely photos! They look like they are enjoying themselves.”
