Vintage Coffee Morning at Clayton Manor
TV and stage actress and personality Sherrie Hewson visited us at Clayton Manor Care Home recently as a special guest at our Vintage Coffee Morning.
The event was held in our tea room, and residents helped to prepare for it by setting out refreshments and arranging the beautiful cakes and scones on our classic cake stands, all beautifully baked by our wonderful chef, Jayne Davies.
Avery Ambassador Sherrie, residents and guests spent time chatting whilst enjoying cups of tea and coffee with freshly baked scones. The residents asked Sherrie about her time on Coronation Street and hit TV programme Benidorm, and if she was enjoying the current live UK tour of Benidorm On Stage.
Debbie, our entertainer for the event, sang a lively selection of 1950’s songs and Sherrie joined in the rock and roll dancing with our residents and staff. Home Manager Linda Brooks showed Sherrie around the home to meet those residents who had been unable to join in the main party.
All of our residents and visitors thoroughly enjoyed the day and were thrilled by Sherrie’s warmth and interest in their lives. We hope to welcome Sherrie back in the near future!
