In August, we at Silvermere Care Home celebrated Avery’s fantastic win of ‘Residential Care Provider of the Year’ at the 2016 Health Investor Awards. Part of a portfolio of over 40 Avery homes nationwide, we organised a celebration for residents and their friends and families along with the local community.
On the day we presented a fundraising cheque of £1,000 to the Spelthorne Dementia Support Group, the nominated charity of Bernard Cribbins OBE, a friend and supporter of Silvermere. Our beautiful home overlooks the Silvermere Golf Club and Lake, a picturesque setting where residents and guests enjoyed a buffet, chilled Pimms and the sunshine in the beautiful gardens; music was provided by the local ‘Sound Easy Jazz Quartet.’
The day was an an absolute delight, one of the founders of the Spelthorne Dementia Group and a Well-being and Activities Coordinator at Silvermere, Jean said, “The afternoon was a great success and opportunity for us to celebrate our award; it’s fantastic to be part of such a successful team. As well as organising the events here I have a volunteer role with the Spelthorne Dementia Group. The fundraising and Avery’s award made it a double celebration.”
We were proud to host the event to celebrate Avery Healthcare’s achievements; we cannot wait to see what heights we can reach in the future!
