Ashurst Mews Receives Good Overall CQC Inspection
Ashurst Mews Care Home in Moulton, Northampton scored a ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) at a recent unannounced inspection. Previously the CQC rated the home as ‘Requires Improvement’ under the former operator, but with the marvellous team work led by Home Manager Shweta Mendon and support from owner Avery Healthcare, Ashurst Mews has been transformed.
Ashurst Mews is now operated by leading national care provider Avery, who in 2016 scooped both the Health Investor Residential Care Provider of the Year and Residential Care Provider (Larger Organisation) at the LaingBuisson Awards, and in March 2017 took the Large Employer of The Year Award at the Qube Learning Awards. Ashurst Mews is a high quality home with quiet lounges, restaurant style dining rooms, bedrooms all with en-suites, private sunny gardens, and a cinema room.
Ashurst Mews Manager Shweta Mendon (pictured) was delighted: “We have a philosophy here and commitment to promoting independence and choice for our residents, supported by the highest quality care. It is a home with a difference that offers friendship and a healthy and active interesting lifestyle.”
Extracts from the CQC report included: “People were cared for by staff that were respectful of their dignity and that demonstrated an understanding of each person’s needs.” Another extract states: “People looked happy and relaxed at Ashurst Mews; they were treated with kindness and respect. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere around the home was warm.” One resident told CQC, “The staff here are sublime….I have been in other homes before here and they really are good here.” Another resident said, “Wonderful staff, they really are; they care for me well.”
