Ashurst Mews Raises £400 To Build Sensory Room at Fairfields Primary School
A staggering £400 has been raised by Ashurst Mews Care Home to help build a sensory room for the pupils……
Pop in and meet our Home Manager and friendly team here at the charming Ashurst Mews for a cup of tea in one of our safe visiting rooms or garden area. Or call us and we’ll be happy to talk you through the different facilities in the home and discuss your specific care needs. Whether you’re considering residential, nursing, dementia or respite care for yourself or a loved one, our team are skilled in their knowledge and deal with your enquiry sensitively and thoroughly.
Ashurst Mews Care Home is situated just outside Northampton in the quaint village of Moulton. We offer residential, nursing and dementia care here at our Northampton nursing home. What does drive all of our staff is the happiness of our residents, ensuring that we involve all of our residents in every aspect of home life, make new friends and even take up new hobbies. After all, you’re never too old for something new.
Our home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side.
We have a lovely garden that surrounds the home and is wheelchair accessible, of course. Sitting out in the sunshine and admiring the roses when the weather is fine always raises our spirits. Our interiors are beautifully designed and allow plenty of room for all sorts of activities, socialising, or just for sitting quietly, if you prefer some essential ‘me’ time every now and then. Our cinema room is a massive hit with our film buff residents, with those good old musicals a firm favourite on a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
We like our residents to personalise their bedrooms – Residents are encouraged to bring their own mementoes and keepsakes to their fully furnished and spacious bedrooms, this can help with settling in for new residents. Housekeepers see that they are always kept in order – the rooms that is, not the residents!
Family and friends are urged to come and visit our care home in Northamptonshire as often as they like and get themselves as involved as their loved ones. The better the communication, the better the care. Come and enjoy an afternoon matinée in our cinema with us; we’ve even got the popcorn.
To see what we get up to you might want to view our dedicated Facebook page that is kept updated with all the activities and goings-on in the home, or call our friendly manager team if you have further questions or would like a tour of the home.
Here at our residential care home in Northamptonshire, we put a special emphasis on keeping everyone moving physically, as well as keeping minds active. A healthy and active body means a healthy spirit and a positive outlook on life. Many of our residents have great fun in our garden during the warmer months. Here are some activities that our residents enjoy at Ashurst Mews:
We have established strong ties with local schools and associations, which ensure that residents remain part of the wider community. The local Moulton Residents Association host their meetings at Ashurst, and residents help deliver their magazine. Moulton Church comes in for monthly Sunday services. We often have trips out with the other nearby Avery homes — Spencer House and Cliftonville, so we have a wide social circle to draw on.
Here at Ashurst Mews, we love nothing more than a get together with fresh cream cakes and tea, of course, especially when we can sit in the garden or when we have a fete or open day. But we still make sure we have our fair share of healthy food and fresh fruit and vegetables as well. Our chef only uses fresh food, locally sourced if possible, and cooks on the premises, taking care to make the three main meals a day nutritious, balanced and beautifully presented.
Dining is an integral part of life at our Northampton nursing home, an important focal point of the day for not just our residents, but for us staff members too. One of our highlights is having themed days, when our cruise ship (not a real one, a model) calls in at various locations. For instance, when it stopped in India, we had a lovely choice of samosas, pakoras and bhajis as well as just plain poppadoms for those residents with simpler tastes.
There’s always a choice on the menu at our diverse care home in Northamptonshire, so all tastes are catered for, as are special diets. Come and see for yourself and join us for a meal or a nice cup of tea and a cream cake!
