Advanced Senior Carers Presentation
In May another cohort of our talented Senior Carers graduated from our City and Guilds Accredited Advanced Senior Carers Programme.
This Spring, 19 dedicated employees from across our Avery homes were presented with certificates and enamel uniform badges by our Chief Operating Officer Sharon Winfield. The awards presentation took place at a sunny, celebratory lunch at the Kettering Spa Hotel.
Our Advanced Senior Carers Programme is a detailed five-month course which results in our lead Senior Carers being highly trained and able to provide enhanced clinical nursing support, which is increasingly in demand with complex care needs.
The programme is delivered through face-to-face training, mentoring, competency assessment and distance learning. By bridging the gap between the skills gap in the care sector, this programme is creating brand new opportunities for senior care staff whilst improving the quality of care for our residents.
Shelley Parker-Wain, our Head of Training & Development and Director of The Advanced Senior Carer Programme was ecstatic, saying “Once again, the results were outstanding and everyone who took part in the programme should be very proud of their achievement! At Avery, we fully support anyone with a passion for learning to achieve their goals. We have had a high number of applicants for our new programme which commences in June and I’m looking forward to welcoming them to their awards presentation too.”
