A Novel Day

Company News

World Book Day was brought to life in our care homes last month as residents and staff celebrated the joy of reading with heartfelt stories, literary conversations, and even a few costumes to match.

While the day encourages reading, it also provides the perfect excuse to dress up as beloved book characters. At Miramar Care Home in Herne Bay, much to the residents’ delight, staff transformed into iconic fictional favourites including Dorothy, Alice, Toad of Toad Hall, Mary Poppins, and even a cheerful Hobbit from the Shire.

Over at Brentwood Arches Care Home in Brentwood, residents shared their love for reading with children from Ursuline Prep School. The children came dressed up as adored characters, including Snow White, princesses, The Hulk, and many more. They brought joy, laughter, and plenty of nostalgia to the home.

At Moorlands Lodge Care Home in Hindhead, the team took a literary leap back in time with Jane Austen-inspired outfits that added a touch of Regency flair to the day. Residents joined in lively discussions about their favourite books and authors, sharing memories and literary insights.

Meanwhile, creativity bloomed at Southampton Manor Care Home in Southampton, where residents crafted their own bookmarks, adding a personal and practical touch to their reading celebrations.

Thank you to everyone who took part and made the day so special.
