Bourn View Care Home welcomed Mondelez Cadbury UK for a heart-warming coffee morning that brought joy to residents, team members, and families. The event was filled with sweet treats, fun activities, and plenty of smiles, creating a lovely atmosphere for everyone who attended.
The occasion was particularly meaningful as several residents who had once worked at the famous Cadbury factory in Bournville reunited to share their cherished memories. Stories of the “good old days” brought laughter and nostalgia, reminding everyone of the strong connection between Cadbury and the local community.
One highlight came from Beryl Jervis, who worked as a Cadbury sales representative in 1949. She recalled travelling across the country to promote Cadbury products, proudly sharing how much fun her role was and how special the company remains to her, saying, “It’s the best chocolate in the world and was a great company to work for.”
Residents also enjoyed a Cadbury-themed quiz, activity booklets, and a chance to reminisce with Beverley from Mondelez, who kindly brought along plenty of chocolate and cakes for everyone to enjoy. One resident, Vera, fully embraced the Cadbury theme by dressing head to toe in purple, a perfect tribute to the brand.
Reflecting on the event, Zoe Gallagher, Well-being Assistant, shared, “It’s wonderful local companies as big as Mondelez take the time to visit and treat our amazing residents and see them smile.”
The coffee morning was a truly special occasion, celebrating community, history, and the joy of chocolate. It reminded everyone of the importance of connection and how a simple gesture can bring so much happiness.
