Sherrie Hewson opens our new Hathaway Suite!
We were pleased to welcome the new Avery Ambassador, Sherrie Hewson, into Scholars Mews Care Home to formally open our fully refurbished top floor Hathaway Suite.
Sherrie, well known for long-running appearances on Crossroads, Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Loose Women and more recently Benidorm took time out from rehearsals for her new stage show of Benidorm to join us as we celebrated another phase of redevelopment at our lovely care home.
Sherrie was joined by the Deputy Mayor of Stratford, Kate Rolfe, along with other guests and resident’s family and friends as the ribbon was cut and a commemorative plaque was unveiled. A lovely buffet was provided by our chef and his team and Sherrie spent time talking with residents and staff and having photographs taking with all. Her infectious enthusiasm certainly lit up proceedings and everyone enjoyed the event greatly.
The name for the newly opened suite was one of many submitted by students at Stratford-upon-Avon High School to our home. We have a great relationship with the local school and deeply value these fantastic community links and the opportunity for more intergenerational activities together. It was a tough decision to judge all their suggestions in connection to the home and local area, but our residents and staff discussed, shortlisted and finally picked ‘Hathaway’ as our favourite on 18th July.
Sherrie recently became the Ambassador for the Avery Group as she was impressed by the way that we provide the best in care and lifestyle for our residents.
