Hempstalls Hall Raise £300 for Douglas Macmillan Hospice

Company News, Hempstalls Hall

We at Hempstalls Hall Care Home recently raised £300 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Blurton, by running a Fun Day at the home. There were bric-a-brac stalls, scrumptious cakes and visiting entertainer Hannah Morris who sang a medley of songs from the musicals. Local dance troop ‘Lil Gems’ also gave a performance to add to the excitement of the day in our lovely sunny landscaped gardens, which also saw the visit of two birds from Stockley Birds of Prey and Owl Friends; falconer Pam Graham displayed the owls and even allowed residents and visitors to handle them.

Residents and staff at Hempstalls Hall said, “We had so much fun and the money raised will help those in times of great need”.

A little bit more about the Hospice & what this money means to them:

The Hospice’s aim is to promote comprehensive care for those with progressive, advanced disease and a limited life expectancy in order that they may achieve the best quality of life. ‘Dougie Mac’ as it is affectionately known was delighted with the donation. It is the only adult hospice providing such services in North Staffs, and has been serving the community for over 40 years.
