Greenholme House Care Home in Burley in Wharfedale recently welcomed members of the Ilkley Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club for a special lunch event designed to showcase the home’s outstanding facilities and demonstrate its appreciation for the local veteran community.
The event gave local veterans the opportunity to tour the impressive new facility, meet residents and team members, and enjoy a lunch prepared by the home’s catering team. Greenholme House has a strong connection with the Armed Forces community, both by employing veterans on its team and by providing care for veterans living in the home.
Alison McPhail, Client Liaison Manager at Greenholme House, said,“At Greenholme House we are proud to support those who have served our country. Many of our residents and team members have military connections, and it was a pleasure to welcome members of the Ilkley Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club. We wanted to show our appreciation for their service, while also sharing the exceptional care, facilities and community spirit that make Greenholme House such a special place to live and work.”

Mr Sugrue also offered the club’s continued support and looked forward to developing a lasting relationship between Greenholme House and the local veteran community.
The visit highlighted the important role that organisations such as Greenholme House play in supporting veterans in later life, while also strengthening connections between generations and showing the importance of community across Ilkley.
