Derby Care Home Earns ‘Good’ CQC Rating Across All Areas

Our care home in Derby has achieved a ‘good’ rating following a visit from Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors.

Derby Heights Care Home, a 76-bed luxury care home that is part of the Avery Healthcare Group, have a ‘Good’ reason to celebrate after the CQC recognised their unwavering dedication in improving the home’s standards.

The home achieved the rating across all five of the CQC’s assessment criteria; safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led.

Derby Heights, which provides residential, dementia, and respite care received inspections and audits between January and May this year.

This rating reflects the improvements in the quality of care, staff training, and overall resident satisfaction at the home.

The CQC report states that a relative of a resident told inspectors, “We’ve never looked back, my relative is safe and cared for and the staff are lovely.”

The CQC report also stated that, “The registered manager and provider told us how they worked closely with external professionals to meet people’s needs. The registered manager also told us about their links in the local community and how different organisations and entertainment frequently visited the service.”

Lynn Bennett, General Manager at Derby Heights Care Home, has been in the role since February 2024.

She expressed her delight at the outcome by stating, “After having joined Derby Heights only shortly before the inspection, we have made significant changes, which the whole team have embraced, and has resulted in an excellent inspection outcome.”

“It was important to recognise the hard work and dedication from everyone and a CQC party seemed the best way to celebrate.”
