Darwin Court Raise £280 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Company News, Darwin Court

Here at Darwin Court Care Home in Lichfield, we raised over £280 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support following two Macmillan Coffee Morning events attended by over 60 guests in total. Both of the coffee mornings were held in the home’s café, which is the hub for social gatherings at our home and is open all day for both residents and their visitors.

Members of the local community from church groups, day centres and neighbours joined residents, family and staff to enjoy tea, coffees and a delicious range of home-baked cakes. Our talented catering team were kept busy baking while residents helped decorate the cakes and biscuits for the event. Members of staff and resident’s families also contributed to the baking of homemade cakes that were also available for sale to take away, which boosted the final total raised.

Emma Miles, Darwin Court’s Home Manager, commented: “Our residents always enjoy mixing with the local community and felt proud to have been involved with decorating the cakes and raising monies for this very worthwhile cause”.
