Celebrating Women: International Women’s Day 2024
We are marking International Women’s Day by celebrating the extraordinary grandmothers, mothers, daughters, colleagues, friends, teachers and public figures of the past, present and future who have impacted our lives, however big or small.
Avery is proud to have thousands of inspirational women living and working in our homes and forming part of our Senior Leadership and Executive Teams, which support our care communities. Chief Executive Officer Lorna Rose and Sarah Palmer, Quality Director, are two such trailblazers. Together, they lead our organisation in delivering the highest quality of care to our residents, creating meaningful lives together.

“I qualified as a nurse in 1996 and started my career as a carer in an older person’s home. Before joining Avery in 2023, my career journey incorporated the NHS and the criminal justice system before settling into adult social care in 2015. My motivation is to empower colleagues to deliver our vision and values, enabling them to be the very best they can be. I am privileged to lead a highly skilled and competent team driven by the same purpose and values. Away from Avery, I am a daughter, a wife, and a mother of 2 older boys, 18 and 22, who are now finding their own way in the world and have a house full of dogs!”
