To support Dementia Action Week, the team at Barnet Grange hosted a sponsored walk to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The team completed a three-mile walk from Trent Park to Barnet Grange, inviting team members, relatives, residents, and members of the local community to join together and show their support for this important cause.
Originally setting a fundraising target of £500, the goal was exceeded, with more than £ 1,500 raised for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Despite it being one of the hottest days of the year, the turnout and community spirit did not waver. Support came from every direction, from people stopping along the route to say what a fantastic cause it is, to complete strangers making cash donations on the day.
Team member Achini Naidelage commented on being part of the fundraising effort, “I was proud to walk for a cause.”
General Manager, Chloe Graur, shared her thoughts on the day, “It was absolutely amazing to see so many people come together in support of such an important cause. From our residents and relatives to team and members of the local community, everyone played a part in making the day so special. I am immensely proud of the whole team and incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, walked with us, and showed their support. Raising over £1,500 for Alzheimer’s Research UK is a fantastic achievement, and it truly reflects the kindness and strength of our community.”
Harris Wolman, the Son of a resident, shared his appreciation, “Great cause. Thanks to all the team for looking after mum; your dedication truly inspires me to support Alzheimer’s Research UK.” The event was a wonderful reminder of the strength and kindness of the local community.
