Always Going the Extra Mile
At Avery, we are united in our commitment to supporting several charities throughout the year. Together, we champion great causes, connect with our local communities, and, most importantly, have fun while doing it.
Charmaine Buckley, a devoted Carer and Medication Technician at Chorleywood Manor, recently showcased her commitment to a noble cause by participating in and completing the TCS London Marathon in 5 hours and 40 minutes.
In a heartfelt tribute to her late 10-year-old cousin, Stephen, who tragically lost his battle with neuroblastoma, Charmaine embarked on a journey to raise funds for Children with Cancer UK, raising nearly £2,500 in donations.
Charmaine stated, “I want to thank everyone at Avery Healthcare, our residents, their families, and the Chorleywood community. Your dedicated involvement exemplifies the spirit of teamwork and solidarity and really showcases the collective commitment to making a meaningful difference in the fight against childhood cancer.”
Meanwhile, the Fleet Hall team are undertaking the momentous task of climbing Mount Snowdon to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s Disease. The team also hosted a fundraising day, holding a raffle that raised over £150 and welcomed Katherine Dennis, a Community Fundraiser from Parkinson’s UK, to give residents an informative talk on Parkinson’s.
