    Companionship & Laughter at Our Care Home in Corby

    When blessed with good weather, our residents enjoy games sessions in the garden – we have our own versions of tennis, darts and netball. Although skills may have slipped with age, and perhaps residents aren’t as agile as they were, we are of the firm belief that all exercise is good, both for the body and mind. Excursions to the nearby ‘Autumn Centre’ for chair exercise too are also offered for residents.

    Our enthusiastic activity co-ordinators keep everyone busy with new and interesting things to do. If not exercising, perhaps playing musical bingo, having a manicure, dressing up for one of our many themed events or a massage or taking part in a quiz. Family and friends can always keep in touch with what is going on within Glenmoor House Care Home through our Facebook page, which includes recordings of some of our favourite activities as well as regular updates of upcoming events.

    Taste Sensations at Glenmoor House Care Home

    As well as using our garden for exercise, residents enjoy relaxing there too, and on special occasions enjoy a refreshing glass of Pimm’s and lemonade. However, it’s not out of the ordinary to find us enjoying a warming cup of tea and a slice of cake in the garden either. Aside from these delicious treats, our residents always manage to have a good appetite for the three healthy meals that are served up in our lovely dining room. Mealtimes are a great opportunity to come together and enjoy one another’s company, and the dining experience is an integral part of life at Glenmoor House Care Home.

    The staff try and keep things interesting within the home, sometimes hosting themed meals, where our inventive chef will come up with delicious cuisine to suit the theme. For instance, our residents were treated to Turkish Delight when we had a belly dancer visit recently, alongside other tasty Turkish treats.
