We regularly update our Facebook page with activities and updates for those who want to keep up to date with what we’re doing at our York care home.
At Amarna House, residents connect with the community through regular visits from students and volunteers. We strongly believe that visitors to our home ensure residents remain part of the wider community.
Schools including Millthorpe, All Saints School, and Manor Church of England Academy are regular visitors, whether chatting to residents or getting involved in activities.
The volunteer group, Attend, has helped establish The Friends of Amarna House, and there are now ten volunteers who are regular visitors. They also provide the driver for the home’s minibus, taking residents out regularly or to specific events and activities. Volunteers and relatives also bring in dogs to visit, which is especially popular with the residents.
