The Heartwarming Community at Aire View Care Home: Introducing the Men’s Club
Aire View Care Home in Leeds is dedicated to creating a nurturing and vibrant community for its residents. The mission……
Aire View Care Home is a well-established, award-winning care home in Leeds, situated off Broad Lane just across the Kirkstall Bridge. Aire View care home welcomes you to come and meet the Home Manager and team for a cup of tea. Learn about the home, meet residents and get a feel for the environment yourself. We’ll be happy to talk you through the different facilities in the home and discuss your specific care needs.
Everyone at Aire View Care Home is very sociable and enjoys a great sense of fun and togetherness. Our lounges and café are where you’ll find us joining in with activities, mingling over cakes and coffee or perhaps even enjoying a pre-lunch aperitif. We also recognise that sometimes a bit of space is needed, and our quiet rooms are always available for some relaxation or just catching up on the papers.
The bedrooms are generously sized and come with en-suite walk-in showers, 3/4 beds and wall-mounted TVs. We encourage residents to make their rooms their own with keepsakes and mementos, or a favourite bedspread perhaps. Our housekeeping staff make sure rooms stay just the way residents prefer. We warmly welcome couples or companions to continue their care journey together in our care home.
Our garden is the perfect spot to while away the summer months in the company of other residents, and is often the scene of ‘Keep Fit’ classes and other exercises. The gardening club ensures that the borders are always looking in tip-top condition.
If you look at our Facebook page, you will see that there is quite a lot of singing and dancing going on. Some of it may be done in chairs, but it’s the spirit that counts every time! When the weather is fine, the keyboard gets taken out into the garden and we have the extra benefit of fresh air to fill our lungs. We like our fun, but it doesn’t happen by chance as we have full-time Activity Co-ordinators who see to it that there is always plenty going on in our retirement home to keep the mind and body active and engaged. For instance:
We are very pleased to say that not only does our care home get officially recognised, but so does the garden, winning a Gold in the Residential Care Home category for Leeds in Bloom. We certainly get the residents perfecting their gardening skills!
Our minibus takes us out and about too, to the local theatre, garden centre, the local Kirkstall pub for a Sunday tipple, or a trip on the Leeds Canal. Members of the local community are also regular visitors to us, whether it’s local interest groups, schools or churches; we like to consider ourselves playing a role in local initiatives and events.
