Elvy Court awarded Good In All Categories by CQC
We are excited to announce that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) recently visited Elvy Court Care Home in Sittingbourne for an unannounced inspection, and have rated our home Good In All Categories!
The CQC inspects the services delivered in care homes in five categories (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led). Each category is then graded based on their findings, with an overall rating given. The four ratings that are given are Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement and Inadequate.
Home Manager, Hari Charan-Shembi was delighted with the result, saying: “This Good In All Categories rating is a testament to the dedication of the team who work tirelessly to provide exceptional standards of service for our residents. Since our last inspection a few years ago, the staff here have worked hard to improve our rating and we are all extremely proud of this achievement.”
The full inspection report is featured on the CQC website, but quotes from the report include:
“It’s like home. It feels like family.”
“I absolutely feel safe. They (the staff) always come quickly if I call. I trust them.”
“There are always staff around. You don’t have to ask twice if you need something.”
“The registered manager visited me at home. They asked me and my family lots of questions about all sorts of things. I was very happy when they said they would be able to help me.”
“The staff are all very good. They know what they are doing.”
“The staff always contact us if there are any issues. They keep us up to date when we visit. It’s reassuring for us as a family.”
