Situated in the leafy outskirts of the district, our Wimbledon Common Care Home is just a short drive from the All England Club – host of the world-famous Wimbledon tennis championship. It’s here we provide our residents with the right levels of support, to the highest standards. Here, at Avery, we tailor care plans to meet the needs of the care recipient.
We offer a variety of care types at our care home in Wimbledon – all provided by our qualified and compassionate care team. The support we can provide includes residential care, where we support residents with day-to-day activities, and respite care, which allows residents to continue to receive the care they need on a short-term basis.
Our team also provides specialist dementia care. We’re proud to have pioneered a number of innovative approaches to supporting people affected by dementia. These approaches include our ReConnect programme, where we use life story work to understand our residents, their life experiences and how we can positively support them, and Cutlery-Free Dining, which makes mealtimes inclusive.
We believe it’s important for our residents to feel comfortable, which is why we’ve created a setting that’s lively and luxurious – no two days are ever the same at Wimbledon Common Care Home. Our studio apartments are light and airy, with all the mobility and safety features you or your loved one might need – including en-suite wet rooms.
Away from the apartments, our Wimbledon care home also boasts a fully stocked café, a cinema equipped with plush seating, surround sound and a large screen, a contemporary restaurant, serving seasonal dishes prepared by professional chefs, and a therapy room, where residents can receive nail and beauty treatments in a quiet environment as well salon for hair treatments.
They say variety is the spice of life – and there’s plenty of it at Wimbledon Common Care Home.
Our residents can enjoy an engaging weekly calendar of activities, ranging from quiz nights (complete with prizes!), to flower arranging for those who love to dabble in horticulture, to screenings of old classics and new favourites in our cinema room. The team has designed these activities to enhance both physical and mental well-being.
We love to welcome the friends and loved ones of our residents for visits too. There are lots of great spaces within the home to reminisce, catch up and enjoy a good natter – whether that’s in our café with a cuppa and slice of freshly baked cake, or in the comfort of a cosy armchair in one of our lounges.
Residents are free to make their own plans – a wander around Wimbledon Common is always a popular choice. Our residential care home is also just a 10-minute drive from the centre of the district, while Wimbledon station provides fantastic rail links to central London – with regular Underground and Overground services.
For me, working in the health and social care sector is one of the most rewarding things you can do. I started in the industry when I was just 15-years-old and haven’t looked back since! I’ve had the chance to work in different roles across various areas of care, and it’s always been fulfilling to support others — it’s something I take real pride in.
I joined Wimbledon Common Care Home as the Dementia Care Manager and am now proud to be the General Manager. Wimbledon Common Care Home is such a special place, with an incredible team who truly care about what they do and the people they look after. I’m proud that we treat everyone here like family, providing warm, person-centred care.
